QORIN
Zahra is a senior at an Islamic Boarding School. Zahra has always been a role model student with many achievements, but behind that, she is hiding a severe traumatic past that often haunts her in the middle of the night.

When rebellious new student Yolanda arrives, Zahra is ordered by Ustad Jaelani, her teacher, to take Yolanda under her wing. In addition to that, she is assigned to arrange for all the students to perform the Qorin ritual in order to graduate. Refusing an order from Jaelani is a frightening thing for Zahra or even for the other students.

In Islam, Qorin is a jinn, God’s creatures who accompany every human being as their spiritual doppelganger. Narrated in a hadith that this Qorin pushes a person to do evil things and to disobey Allah. Believing in Qorin’s existence is something that was taught by the Prophet Muhammad but asking help from jinn is shirk. After the ritual, Zahra and all of the students in this girls’ dormitory began to be terrorized by the figure that resembles each of them.

The arrival of the Qorin jinn forced them to fight their own fears, weaknesses, and traumas. Qorin jinn made them commit unimaginable sins, and their lives began to be taken over by Qorin.
